Four Stylish Ways to Wear Dunagree

Looks, Spotlight | October 30, 2015 | By

It seems like comfort has taken the front row this season. Back from the grave, Dungaree has become a hot pick and everyone is wearing one. Also known as an overall, dungaree is breezy, comfortable and stylish.

Introduced in late 17oo’s, a Dungaree was used as work wear for mine diggers due to its sturdiness. Dungaree got acceptance in the fashion world during the 80’s when fashion was growing worldwide and it became a favourite among the young and became one of the biggest trend in the 80’s. Usually denim made, today these are available in almost all medium weight fabrics (like cottons) and in different patterns or styles  like slim fit, tapered, wide-legs and obviously the classic dungaree. So dust off your old dungaree and try on these styles this season.

Though we shot this particular piece a month ago, we are posting it now (in between work life gets busy J). Here’s is our interpretation of ‘how you can wear your dungaree in 4 different ways:

DUNGAREE with STRIPES: Classic it is! Denim and stripes are the best and you can never go wrong with this style as it allows you to be sporty and trendy. Team your dungaree with short stripe tee, if you like to roll up the sleeves, do so and wear it with your sneakers.

DUNGAREE with CROP TOP: Try a crop top (sleeves your choice) with dungaree and pair it with espadrilles ( what is this – color again your choice). Roll up the bottom hem of the dungaree to bring in that casual feel to it. Add a straw hat or a beanie.

DUNGAREE with GLAM FACTOR: Wear your dungaree with a chiffon Blouse (keep it neutral) and add some junk (tribal sounds good) jewellery. Spice it up with red lipstick… believe us when we say that nothing can go wrong with a little bit of red lipstick

DUNGAREE for OFFICE: Who says you can’t wear dungaree for office? Look back, it was once a upon time a work wear, so our idea for Friday wear – a dungaree. Try dungaree with a classic white shirt and team it with a summer trench coat (the other great season trend). Add oversized clutch and nude pumps to finish the look

Choosing the right dungaree may be a dilemma for you, especially if you are towards heavier on the hip. Do let us know if you feel you want a dungaree but don’t know which style to choose.
