Saree Inspired Editorial | A Thought
Once again we borrow from our traditional silhouettes to showcase infused fashion. By instilling modern flare to traditional garments, we are trying to create a thought of rediscovering our love for good old sarees, suits and everything Indian.
A saree can be traditional and conservative or it can be sexy and sheer; and this had allowed yards of this fluttering outfit mark Indian fashion around the globe. Saree is also the most experimented silhouette amongst Indian designers and stylists, thanks to the easy couture visions that can be effortlessly showcased using a saree. One of such visions is ‘dhoti-style saree’ and likes of Tarun Tahiliani and Masaba Gupta have experimented with this style.
In this look we have tastefully draped our saree with slim-fit pants and a leather jacket. Leaving the “pallu” ceremoniously long was done to give the look a glamorous & authentic fall. The bright fuscia pink and a gold-zari blouse are harmoniously balanced with basic black western pieces. Traditional silk poised with western faux leather, a distressed hairstyle and smoky eyes only help us convey the raw energy of this amalgamated look.
A few weeks back we had published our rediscovered version of the historic Anarkali Suit. Click to read – A thought.
