Trip Away – Suitcase & Heels
It is that time of the year when many of us travel, many on personal tours and some on business trips. While on any trip, it is best to know the ‘power of clustering’ as packing right can be the difference between an easy, breezy trip or a panicked one. We girls land-up packing a closet full and yet feel lost when we open the luggage in the hotel room.
Avoid this spin with cluster packing (also known as capsule wardrobe) which mainly means that you pack items which mix and match with each other in terms of common colours or patterns. This makes the clothes work well together and can be used interchangeably.
Walk with Jazz over her two day stay. Jazz works for a retail magazine and believes in feminine formality. She recently took a short trip to meet some material vendors and make a presentation to fellow publishers. From the airport to the conference room to the night-out in just six items of clothing (1 jacket + 2 bottoms + 3 tops that all go with each other). Well okay, we did not count the night pajamas and tees J
Day 1 – Jazz’s early morning flight and immediate need to meet material suppliers / vendors gives her less time to change so she wore most of what she needed for the meeting. Wearing the jeans and jacket also makes your luggage light. This is because you are wearing the heavy fabric clothing and packing only the light weights. How much can a few tees and shirts weigh? Get these distressed jeans and trench coat and feel as if you are stepping into a French flight mode.
Jazz had to check in and move quickly. She just changed her top and washed her face and was ready to hit the street with her vendors. The trench coat gives a feminine and stylish touch that almost no other jacket can provide. Crop top and jeans are for you if you have a slimmer figure, otherwise go for a full-length top and complete the look with a structured bag. In this look the harmony is brought by the ‘neutral’ colour of the three main clothing items – coat, bag and heels are all in nude shade.
If you loved this look and are looking to buy the famous trench coat for yourself, I recommend the following:
